POT IS LESS HARMFUL THAN ALCOHOL MYTH DEBUNKED (UPDATE)

Mounting evidence is clear that cannabis use by adolescents is dangerous

I posted POT IS LESS….. as “NORML And Other Pot Proponents Are Liars: Mounting evidence is clear that cannabis use by adolescents is dangerous and not less harmful than alcohol” on the August 15 PACOVILLA Corrections blog. ‘Jim H’ responded August 19 by referring to Gleason’s study showing that marijuana use by adolescents is linked to the development of schizophrenia as ‘weak’ because it was conducted only on laboratory mice.

Here is what ‘Jim H’ said:

“It’s a long way from lab mice to proof of effects in humans outside of laboratories. The search for damning consequences for marijuana use has been going on for decades, but remains weak. The research should go on, but this is too weak a result to use it to set public policy.”

My response to ‘Jim4 H’:

“Jim, I appreciate your reasoned response. However, I do not believe the Gleason study is that weak. And there are many other reputable studies that have shown Marijuana to be a dangerous drug. It’s just that the liberal media ignores or refuses to report the results.

Now let’s put the shoe on the other foot. The case favoring marijuana is even weaker than the case against it. There are quite a number of scientific and medical reports indicating that medical marijuana is a hoax perpetrated on a clueless and unsuspecting public by the purveyors of pot, Studies supporting the use of medical marijuana get lots of coverage by the liberal media, even though reputable researchers have referred to many of those studies as junk science. Of course, ‘sick’ people are going to feel better after getting stoned, just as they would after getting soused on Jack Daniels or Jim Beam.

The truth about medical marijuana is that it has made millionaires out of the growers, distributors and prescribers of pot, and that was the whole intent to begin with. Medical marijuana has led to a de facto legalization of pot because greedy doctors are prescribing it for all kinds of imaginable conditions, many of which are invented by their pothead ‘patients’.”
