TAKEDOWN OF THE RODEO CLOWN

The left's trampling of the First Amendment is pure bull

Quite recently a rodeo clown at an event in Missouri donned the head of our beloved president, Barrack Obama. The announcer taunted the crowd asking them if they wanted to see the president being run down by a bull. The crowd overwhelmingly cheered and cheered as the announcer asked them the same thing repeatedly. Finally, a bull was released and the Obama clown ran for cover to the delight of the spectators.

That is, of course, except for a few Obama supporters in the stands. After the video went viral among left-leaning bloggers, a campaign of political intolerance and First Amendment “free speech” suppression was launched against those responsible. Sound vaguely familiar? The Missouri State Fair caved in to political pressure, made a public apology, and promised sanctions against the clown and announcer responsible for the gag.

Yet who can forget those crazy eight years preceding the rise of Obama, the Unquestionable? Perhaps you might remember these images (available all over the Internet) of protestors who burned George W. Bush in effigy, spouting threats of assassination, with very ugly depictions captured for the world to see. Even other countries joined in the unfettered fun of Bush-bashing. What did conservatives do? We ignored it because it was, by and large, a matter of free speech.

The hypocrisy of the left knows no boundaries especially when it pertains to their own political interests and image. If conservatives were to burn an effigy of our current president, calls of alarmist rhetoric concerning the Ku Klux Klan and racism would flood the media networks in a firestorm (excuse the pun) of accusation and innuendo.

And, though some of it was vulgar, distasteful, and bordering on criminal threats, many on the left did not raise so much as an eyebrow when George W. Bush was vilified, trivialized, and openly mocked in the public square over his policies. Yet, one rodeo clown bearing the mug of President Obama gets chased by a bull in satirical jest, and the left wets itself into a frenzy to see who can trample the First Amendment the fastest and silence its critics.

Is it me, or is their a double-standard at work with our Constitutional safeguards and the Obama-loving left? Welcome to tyranny 101.

The truth is, the rodeo clown gag hit too close to home for many liberals. It was a harmless spoof. But no one lampoons the Great and Mighty Oz of the left—no one.

There has been a circus performer in the White House and a joker in the Department of Justice for quite some time. Thanks to congressional hearings, a host of bad actors and buffoons have recently been exposed to public scrutiny and justifiable criticism. The reality is, almost everyone loves the circus. Heck, the president even has a carney as his spokesperson. The problem is in getting the circus to move on once everyone has grown tired of it.

I guess harassing the Tea Party and other conservative non-profits with the force of the government through the IRS is just not good enough for the radicalized left. The take down of the rodeo clown is but one shining example of the obstructionist mindset among the left in America.
