WHILE CHINA’S UNIVERSITIES CONCENTRATE IN SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING, AMERICA’S POLITICALLY CORRECT UNIVERSITIES PROVIDE THEIR STUDENTS WITH MULTICULTURALISM STUDIES

How many jobs are there for college graduates with a major in Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender studies?

Rutgers University has just announced that its Department of Women’s and Gender Studies will be adding Beyoncé to its curriculum in a course officially listed as Politicizing Beyoncé. The course lecturer touts it as using Beyoncé’s career as a way to explore American race, gender and sexual politics. Course topics will include “whether Beyoncé’s half-naked body is empowering or stereotypical, the extent of her control over her own aesthetic, and how she fits in with other singers like Nina Simone and Lady Gaga.”

While Beyoncé is a highly talented singer and dancer, whatever possessed one of the leading universities in the ‘Bridgegate State’ to offer a credit course on the stunning beauty? No wonder Europe is laughing at us for the politically correct drivel taught at our institutions of higher (?) education.

To be politically correct, colleges have been wasting money and student time on offerings such as Dartmouth’s “Queer Marriage, Hate Crimes, and Will and Grace: Contemporary Issues in LGBT Studies” and Harvard’s “Race, Gender, and Ethnicity in Martin Scorsese and Spike Lee.”

America’s colleges and universities have been offering majors in Women’s Studies, Gender Studies, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Studies, African-American Studies, etc. These studies are shallow and politically correct nonsense. Try getting a job in the real world after graduating with any of those majors.

I am reminded of the photo of a 2011 Occupy Wall Street demonstration where one young woman was holding up a large handwritten cardboard sign which read: $96,000 for a BA in Hispanic transgender gay & lesbian studies and I can’t find work!

Another photo shows a woman OWS demonstrator holding up a handwritten sign which reads: “I have a Master of Arts degree in Women’s studies. However, the only job I can find is as a Bartender at a local restaurant. I owe over 60k in student loans. I am forced to rely on food stamps and W.I.C. to support my son. Is this the ‘American Dream’ I worked so hard for? I am the 99 percent occupywallst.org”

Now instead of being pissed off at the ‘one percent’ and Wall Street, those two demonstrators should sue their respective universities for inducing them to waste their time and money on worthless degree programs.

While Europe is laughing at us, Chinese universities have been grinding out scientists and engineers to the extent that in the not too distant future, China will surpass us as the world’s leader in technological advances.

It’s a good thing I got my degrees in the ‘50s when Beyoncé wasn’t even a gleam in her daddy’s eye. Had Beyoncé been around then and had the University of North Texas offered Politicizing Beyoncé, I probably would have enrolled just to study her gorgeous ‘half-naked body.’
