Biden's E.P.A. announced on Tuesday that the Corporate Average Fuel
Economy number for 2025 will be 55 mpg. It is an IMPOSSIBLE goal unless
the entire U S automotive output is turned over to electric mini-cars,
with maybe 3% pickup trucks thrown in for good measure. They will
probably need an exemption for government purchases (of course) or else
Senile Joe's Secret Service detail will be chasing his limo on
mo-peds.
It is (at least
for me) hard to say if he is truly trying to to do in order to "save the
planet" or trying to do it in order to kill the gasoline internal
combustion engine in the United States. Either way it is a pipe dream
in the literal sense of that phrase.
