On Halloween PGE formally petitioned to extend the working life of the Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant. Gavin Newsom, the God-Emperor of California, has already said he thinks this is a dandy idea so it probably will in fact happen. I guess even he is smart enough to know that the general public does not like freezing in the dark and may take offense if it happens too often.
