DING DONG DITCH DEAD

Virginia homeowner Tyler Chase Butler was arrested on charges of second-degree murder, malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony in the death of Michael Bosworth Jr.

A bit of tragic stupidity and maybe just plain bad luck led to one dead teenager and another slightly wounded in Spotsylvania, VA over the weekend.

Michael Boworth Jr., 18, was out with a few buddies playing some sort of Tik Tok Challenge called Ding Dong Ditch.  Apparently the idea is to ring the doorbell and otherwise be a pain in the ass at a home and "film" the whole thing to post on the net.  They picked the wrong target on one of their runs.  The homeowner apparently believed the teenagers were attempting to forcibly enter his home and punctuated his belief with gunfire.  Bosworth Jr. was killed and one of his road dogs slightly wounded.

Homeowner Tyler Chase Butler, 27, has been arrested on a murder charge, and is currently in custody, said the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office. He asserted self-defense.

One thing is for sure, 18 is too young to die for being stupid or unlucky, but it happens all the time.
