During a struggle Brianna Erwin fired a cop's gun while it was still partially holstered
The local constabulary in Tyler, TX. responded to the
Dollar General store last month to deal with a couple of shoplifters.
One was taken into custody with no problem. The other got stupid,
fought with the cop, bit the cop and tried to get his gun with partial
success. She managed to discharge his service pistol while it was still
partly in the holster. Nobody was hurt except the shoplifter. The cop
got pissed after the gun went bang and he quit playing nice and punched
her a good one. There is body cam footage of the whole thing.
The
woman is now a guest of the people of Smith County on two counts of
aggravated assault on a public servant, resisting arrest, evading
arrest, and possession of a controlled substance. (No surprise on that
last one.)
Nobody seems to be in a hurry to bail her out.

The Smith County Jail isn't a nice place to be. I used to work near Tyler and those folks don't like criminals. I predict she'll be convicted for doing something stupid and sent away to a place worse, TDCJ.
