SHIT PILES AND RUBBISH-IN-THE-STREETS COMPETITION BETWEEN PARIS AND SAN FRANCISCO ..... RIGHT NOW, IT LOOKS LIKE PARIS IS SLIGHTLY AHEAD

Ewwwww la la! Tourists film human excrement, rats and piles of rubbish in Paris and complain of 'pee smell' in streets

Faeces splattered on the pavement. Puddles of urine collecting on the street. Piles of rubbish mounting on roads.

It's not exactly what comes to mind when thinking about Paris.

Visitors of the once-venerated city, described in gorgeous meter by the countless poets who travel to France's capital for inspiration, are increasingly complaining about conditions in the city, especially on social media.

One video showing faeces on the streets alongside piles of discarded rubbish, was shared to social media with the caption: 'The architecture, the history, the magic? It’s real. But I’d be lying if I didn’t say it also smells kinda funky, and the streets can be really dirty.'

Another showed a tourist walking across the Pont du Carrousel bridge in the centre of Paris, which was uploaded with the caption: 'I don't know if it's just us wondering, but why does Paris stink like pee everywhere.'

And a third showed mounds of trash in front of the eastern side of the Palais Garnier, a world famous opera house, as well as rats scurrying across the street and homeless people sleeping in the open.

In recent years, the city has been forced to contend with striking bin men leading to unsavoury images of piles of rubbish in the streets. One expert pointed to the apparent propensity of French men to use streets as their own personal loos.

Nicolas Fieulaine, a professor of social psychology at the University of Lyon, told the BBC in 2023: 'In the French imagination, and i'm not sure it's the case anywhere else, public urination is an option that seems available.

'[It] doesn't call a person's moral character into question.'

Fieulaine said the history of France's obsession with public urination began with the early 19th century public health movement in Paris, which saw massive scientific and institutional reforms in urban areas that aimed to improve the broad quality of life for French citizens.

While it did end up improving public health, the professor said it also made public urination a 'taboo'.

This has in turn made it attractive for men who want to feel 'power over public spaces.'

'it conveys a sense of freedom.. which excludes women.

'It's a powerful form of appropriation. Urinating somewhere is about marking one's territory.'

Another problem appears to be waste management in the city.

The Greater Paris area is home to around 7 million people. And every year, an estimated 17.4million people visit.

All of these people leave behind an estimated 3.3million tons of waste every year.

And experts have said the ageing infrastructure in the city simply isn't able to keep up.

Jean Dupont, a Paris-based waste management specialist, told the What Is Green Living blog: 'The infrastructure hasn’t evolved in tandem with the city’s growing population and increasing consumption patterns. This mismatch creates bottlenecks, especially during peak tourist seasons.'

There is also a nationwide problem with attitudes towards recycling, according to statistical data.

While the average EU nation recycles 47% of its waste, France recycles just 28%.

A 2021 study found that in Paris, just 60% of residents consistently sort their rubbish, with many citing confusion over the sorting system as a primary reason not to properly recycle.

As a result, items that could have been recycled often end up in refuse bins that pile up in the streets.

Paris has also seen a swathe of labour strikes over the past few years.

Last year, Paris' binmen threatened to go on strike during the Olympics, raising the spectre of piles of stinking trash on the streets during the Games.

Walkouts threatened to start collective action in May and continue from July 1 to September 8, the CGT union branch representing binmen warned. This period included the Olympic Games, which ran from July 26 to August 11.

Refuse workers in the Paris region demanded an extra 400 euros (£340) per month and a one-off 1,900-euro (£1,625) bonus for those working during the Olympics.

And the year prior, a three-week strike by rubbish collectors against President Emmanuel Macron's unpopular pensions reform saw more than 10,000 tonnes of waste piled in Paris streets at its height.

Images of the heaps of trash, some mounting several metres high, were seen around the world.

Iran's Supreme Leader appoints potential successors

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has named three senior clerics as potential successors in the event of his assassination, The New York Times reported Saturday.

Out of concern for a possible assassination attempt, Khamenei has reportedly suspended electronic communications to hinder attempts to track him and now communicates with his commanders primarily through a trusted aide.

The supreme leader, who is being protected in a bunker, has also selected multiple potential replacements across his military command hierarchy in case additional key deputies are killed. According to the Iranian officials familiar with Tehran's emergency contingency plans, this reflects the precarious moment facing Khamenei and his three-decade rule.

Iran's development of intercontinental ballistic missiles points to a much broader agenda: The ability to threaten the world far beyond the Middle East.

A subterranean Iranian SRBM assembly line with a poster (left) quoting Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei as saying, “Our enmity with America is eternal.”

The question confronting the United States on whether to actively support Israel’s campaign against Iran’s nuclear ambitions is legitimate and deeply complex. From Washington’s perspective, remaining on the sidelines may preserve America’s diplomatic credibility in future negotiations. It also aligns with the instincts of the Republican-led administration, and President Donald Trump in particular, who has long championed ending America’s foreign entanglements, not expanding them.

But the Iranian case is not a conventional one. This is not a question of regional power rivalry or geopolitical posturing. Iran, under the leadership of the ayatollahs, represents a violent theocratic ideology, not just a regime. For decades, Tehran has fueled instability across the Middle East, propping up armed proxies, spreading revolutionary extremism and investing heavily in weapons of mass destruction—all while benefiting from the patience and, at times, appeasement of the international community.

Iran’s ambitions are global. Its continued development of intercontinental ballistic missiles—without a plausible defensive justification—points to a much broader agenda: The ability to threaten the world far beyond the Middle East. These weapons are not built to defend Iran. They are designed to give cover to a growing network of terrorist militias, already active from Yemen to Lebanon and from Iraq to Europe. Iranian operatives have plotted attacks in France, Germany, Bulgaria and Turkey, all under the guise of a revolutionary religious doctrine endorsed at the highest level.

This is not a regime guided by the logic of Western diplomacy. It is a cunning actor that manipulates negotiations to buy time, build capacity and continue its global subversion. It does not simply oppose the United States and Israel; It seeks their destruction. That ambition is not rhetorical; it is strategic and operational.

Israel, as the most immediate target, faces an existential dilemma. Unlike larger nations, it cannot absorb a nuclear strike. And it cannot ignore the mounting threats from Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. When Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei openly speaks of a countdown to Israel’s destruction, Israelis are compelled to act—not by choice, but by necessity.

This is not merely Israel’s war. The regime in Tehran poses a real, long-term threat to the free world. To entertain the idea of a new “deal,” one that preserves the current regime in exchange for unverifiable promises, is to play with fire. Worse, it is to feed a wounded beast. History teaches us that appeasing radical regimes does not prevent wars. It invites them.

Whether or not the United States joins Israel’s military effort is, ultimately, a sovereign decision. But make no mistake: The American flag will continue to burn in Tehran regardless. In the eyes of the Iranian regime, America is the great enemy because it symbolizes everything they seek to destroy: liberty, individual rights, democracy and the rule of law.

The real question facing the United States is not whether to partner in Israel’s campaign, but whether to stand by while a tyrannical regime continues its march against the free world.

Toppling the regime in Tehran would not start a new war; It would bring an end to a decades-long conflict waged through proxies, bombs, cyberattacks and ideological warfare. This is not about empire-building or regime-change adventurism. This is about survival.

Eighty years ago, America confronted absolute evil and saved the free world. Today, the same moral challenge confronts the world. The ayatollahs’ regime has proven, through action as well as rhetoric, that it belongs to the dark side of history. But unlike the movies, this is not a galaxy far, far away. This is our world.

And it’s time to protect it.

ANOTHER PIECE OF SANITY FROM THE NINTH CIRCUIT

By Bob Walsh

A federal appeals court struck down California’s “one-gun-per-month” law Friday, June 20, 2025, in a 3-0 decision, ruling it unconstitutional under the Second Amendment.

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has just struck down California's ONLY ONE GUN A MONTH law.  The action will almost certainly be appealed by CA either to a full panel of the 9th or to SCOTUS.  You can buy used guns or private party transfers all you want, but new guns only one per month.

Now maybe they will also act against some of the other unconstitutional bullshit in CA regarding gun rights.  But I won't hold my breath.

WalletHub, which may or may not have any real basis for these assertions, has rated San Francisco the 148th worse run city in the United States, on  a list of 148 total.  Oakland was the 145th worst.  Just in case you are thinking of moving there or moving a business there.

FUCK THE PEASANTS AGAIN

On June 7, while the riots were underway, Gavin Newsom, the God-Emperor of the formerly great state of California, was attending a Brie and Chablis lunch for a charity run by his sister.  The night of June 7 Trump said "fuck this shit" and activated the CA National Guard and federalized them.

Newsom objected to the press coverage, calling those who pointed this situation out "dishonest hacks."

SIG GETS REFUGE FROM LAWSUITS IN NEW HAMPSHIRE

By Bob Walsh

Those of you who follow the gun press or police safety issues are probably aware of assertions of serious safety problems with the SIG P320 semiautomatic pistol.  The claims are that these guns are capable of firing by themselves while in the holster or while otherwise being handled safely.  There are at least several instances where surveillance footage and multiple, competent independent witnesses support these assertions.

SIG USA is headquartered in New Hampshire.  The legislature of New Hampshire recently (May 23, 2025) enacted a law specifically to protect SIG, which is a major employer in the state.  The law specifically protects all gun manufacturers and FFL licensees in product liability issues which relate to the "absence or presence" of four specific safety devices.  One of those safety devices addressed in an external mechanical safety.

SIG has prevailed in some of the cases against it.  They have lost big-time in two cases.  Approximately 22 cases are pending.  SIG asserts that these apparent problems are in fact caused by operator error or the use if incompatible holsters.

It is possible to buy the pistol either with or without a manual external safety.  The vast majority of them are sold WITHOUT the safety.  Many states, including California, require a mandatory external safety on semiautomatic pistols.

SCOTUS SAYS OIL COMPANIES CAN SUE CALIFORNIA

By Bob Walsh

By a 7-2 vote SCOTUS overruled a lower court and said that the dreaded "big oil" can in fact sue the formerly great state of CA over their attempts to drive them out of business with their EV manadates and various "Clean Car Standards" in the state.

Some, but not all, of those restrictions were thrown out last week when congress invalidated the state's bid to create their own air pollution standards.  The state is now challenging the change of law in court.

The two court psychopaths, SotoMayor and Brown Jackson, complained that the court seems to be siding with "fuel interests" rather than the "rights of ordinary citizens."  I guess the idea that the court might support the LAW, or that the peons might actually WANT or even NEED to buy fuel to get to work, school, the doctor, etc. is foreign to them.

TO IRAN, TRUMP'S BACKPEDALING IS A SIGN OF WEAKNESS, NOT STRENGTH

 By Howie Katz

Tensions between U.S. President Donald Trump & Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei will decide the future of military action in the Middle East.

Earlier this week it sure looked like President Trump was about to bomb Iran's nuclear facilities. He departed early from the G7 meeting in Canada. He met  three times in the White House situation room with his National Security team. Then suddenly he announced that he would give Iran two weeks to surrender before deciding whether or not to bomb the Islamic state.

A superb job of backpedaling.

What led Trump to call off the attack on Ira's nuclear facilities? All the reports indicate that he was talked out of it by kooky Tucker Carlson, Steve Bannon and Vice President JD Vance. They do not want Trump to get involved in any way whatsoever in the Israel-Iran conflict

Journalist Tucker Carlson details his views on Israel and Iran with War Room host Steve Bannon

Tucker Carlson (L) and Steve Bannon urged Trump not to get involved in the Israel-Iran war

Trump has demanded the unconditional surrender of Iran. He says he wants to give negotiations a chance.

Negotiations? So far, Iran has been playing Trump like a fiddle and will continue to do so, just like they did with Barack Obama. Col. (res.) Ronen Itsik, a former commander in the IDF's Armored Corps, notes that Iran is a cunning actor that manipulates negotiations to buy time, build capacity and continue its global subversion.

The Ayatollahs have no intention of surrendering. And Israel, which has not been a part of the negotiations, has no interest in stopping its attacks on Iran which has repeatedly vowed to obliterate the "Zionist entity."

Two weeks from now, will Trump give Iran another two-week extension? Will he cave in to the urgings of Carlson, Bannon and Vance?

To the Ayatollahs of Iran, Trump's backpedaling is a sign of weakness, not strength.

Donald Trump continued his recent feud with Fox News, saying liberal commentator Jessica Tarlov's appearances are what 'make MAGA absolutely hate' the network.

Trump posted to Truth Social Friday: 'Why does Fox News allow failed TV personality Jessica Tarlov to 'soil' The Five? Her voice, her manner, and above all else, what she says, are a disgrace to television broadcasting.'

The president appears to be reacting to Tarlov - the most consistent Trump-hating voice on the show and network - discussing negative polling numbers on Friday's show.

'I've had the best poll numbers that I've ever had, and she is constantly saying the exact opposite. The just out highly respected Rasmussen Poll is at 56%, Insider Advantage 54%, and many others are at 56% to 68%! Sadly, the audience has to listen to her spew off that I am doing poorly in the polls, while I am beating the democrats by 15%+ points and, more importantly, I just won an election against two candidates, Sleepy Joe and Kamala, in a Landslide by winning all 7 Swing States, and the Popular Vote by millions, with records broken everywhere!'

Trump still stood by commentators Jesse Watters and Greg Gutfeld, saying the pair are 'terrific' but that they 'don't see all of these poll numbers and can't, therefore come to my defense. But I can!'

He continued: 'Nobody can stand Tarlov! She lies over and over again, and MAGA is complaining, BIG LEAGUE, that she's all over Fox. Watch their ratings go down by keeping her on the show — nobody wants to listen to her. Why doesn't she talk about the fact that I had ZERO illegal aliens come into our Country last month, whereas Sleepy Joe Biden allowed 62,000 people in, many from prisons, mental institutions, and gangs.'

The president finished by writing that 'people like Jessica Tarlov make MAGA absolutely hate Fox!'

Tarlov was citing polls that had Trump in the red with both independents and overall voters on key issues.

'When we say the people don't like this, they don't like it. That doesn't mean that Democrats aren't still unpopular. That doesn't mean I don't know if the election was held again today Donald Trump might very well win again if it was.'

However, she said that 'directionally' the polling numbers are going against the president.

His comments Friday come after Trump went on a tear Thursday morning after a new Fox News Channel poll showed Americans split on the Republican's immigration policy.

'The Crooked FoxNews Polls got the Election WRONG, I won by much more than they said I would, and have been biased against me for years. They are always wrong and negative,' Trump posted to Truth Social.

'It's why MAGA HATES FoxNews, even though their anchors are GREAT,' Trump fumed. 'This has gone on for years, but they never change the incompetent polling company that does their work.'

He then pointed to the latest survey.

The poll, which was released Wednesday, showed Trump with a 46 percent approval rating overall, with another 54 percent disapproving of the job he's done so far.

His numbers on 'border security' were better - with 53 percent approving and 46 percent disapproving.

Trump still stood by commentators Jesse Watters (pictured center) and Greg Gutfeld (pictured right), saying the pair are 'terrific' but that they 'd on't see all of these poll numbers and can't, therefore come to my defense. But I can!'

When voters were asked about 'immigration' his numbers were lower again.

Forty-six percent said they approved and 53 percent said they disapproved.

His lowest numbers were actually on the topic of 'inflation,' with 64 percent disapproving of Trump's handling of this top economic issue, and just 34 percent approving.

Still, he took offense at how he was being rated on the border.

'Now a FoxNews poll comes out this morning giving me a little more than 50% at the Border, and yet the Border is miraculously perfect, NOBODY WAS ABLE TO COME IN LAST MONTH,' he wrote. '60,000 people came in with Sleepy Joe in the same month last year.'

'I hate FAKE pollsters, one of the Worst, but Fox will never change their discredited pollster!' the president complained.

The outburst came Thursday morning as the world continued to wait and see whether the United States would join Israel in its current bombing campaign against Iran.

The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday night that Trump had signed off on an attack plan for Iran but the president had yet to issue a final order.

Overnight Thursday the U.S. did not get involved in the week-long war between Israel and Iran.

'The Wall Street Journal has No Idea what my thoughts are concerning Iran!' also wrote on Truth Social Thursday morning.

The president also slammed Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell - who he appointed - after the Fed decided Wednesday not to push interest rates down as Trump has demanded.

'"Too Late" Jerome Powell is costing our Country Hundreds of Billions of Dollars. He is truly one of the dumbest, and most destructive, people in Government, and the Fed Board is complicit,' Trump wrote.

'Europe has had 10 cuts, we have had none,' he continued. 'We should be 2.5 Points lower, and save $BILLIONS on all of Biden’s Short Term Debt.'

'We have LOW inflation! TOO LATE's an American Disgrace!' Trump wrote.

Overall on the economy, the Fox News poll found that 40 percent of registered voters approved of the job Trump was doing, while 58 percent disapproved.

TRUMP TALKED OUT OF STRIKING IRAN

Huge Trump ally risks president's wrath with astonishing tirade over whether he should bomb Iran

Mark Levin

Conservative radio host Mark Levin voiced his frustration after President Donald Trump appeared to step back from a decision to launch a military strike on Iran to make more room for diplomatic talks.

‘Iran says no unconditional surrender. Again. And again. And again. They cheat and lie and kill. They’re TERRORISTS,’ we wrote on social media.

The president said via his press secretary Karoline Levitt Thursday he would make a decision to act within ‘two weeks,’ extending the timetable for military action in Iran, as supporters of further military action in Iran predicted immanent strikes from the United States.

Levin blamed the president's envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, Vice President JD Vance, and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard for advising the president against military strikes in Iran.

‘They’re a damnable cabal of lunatics, many of whom are antisemites, completely out of step with the overwhelming majority of Americans,’ he wrote, describing them as ‘fifth column isolationists.’

‘We, the people, know Iran wants to nuke us and it’s in our national security interest and our own survival to stop these bastards cold,’ he continued’, and added, ‘Enough with the fake MAGA demagogues and grifters.’

Republican hawks have centered on Witkoff’s ongoing role in negotiations with Iran, blaming him for the president’s decision to wait.

‘Time to say it again — f**k Witkoff,’ wrote Trump supporter Marina Medvin, one of many influential Republicans who voiced their frustration with Trump’s inaction.

Team Trump rushes to defend Witkoff

The attacks prompted Witkoff’s supporters to rally to his defense.

‘My friend Steve Witkoff is an America First patriot!!!!’ Donald Trump Jr. wrote on social media, sharing another post from Trump political advisor Alex Bruesewitz.

‘The attacks against Steve Witkoff are ridiculous. Steve is a patriot who gave up his incredible life in the private sector to serve the President and America — and he’s doing a GREAT job,’ Bruesewitz wrote.

‘Steve Witkoff is a true patriot who I guarantee on any given day over the last seven months has done more for this country than you have in your entire life,’ wrote former Pentagon official Dan Caldwell. ‘Imagine having this much hatred for a man who gave up a comfortable life to work nonstop to end wars and free hostages.’

The president has not given up on diplomatic negotiations with Iran, as British Secretary David Lammy met with Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Witkoff at the White House.

Lammy plans to head to Geneva, Switzerland for further negotiations with European officials for further diplomatic talks with Iranian officials.

‘A window now exists within the next two weeks to achieve a diplomatic solution,’ he said in a statement.

Levin continues to press the president on his show and on Fox News to act to destroy Iran’s nuclear capabilities, describing the Iranians as terrorists who should not be trusted in ongoing negotiations.

The veteran conservative radio host has a long friendship with Trump, despite his decision to back Sen. Ted Cruz during the 2016 Republican presidential primary

Levin met with Trump for dinner just days before the Israel strikes were launched last week, raising concerns from journalist Tucker Carlson that he was trying to convince the president to engage militarily with Iran.

Journalist Tucker Carlson details his views on Israel and Iran with War Room host Steve Bannon

Tucker Carlson (L) and Steve Bannon urged Trump not to get involved in the Israel-Iran war

Carlson and Trump's former political strategist Steve Bannon both urged the president away from getting the United States involved in the Iran/Israel conflict, triggering a messaging civil war between them and more hawkish Republicans.

Trump met for lunch with Bannon on Thursday and spoke with Carlson on the phone on Wednesday as White House advisors are working behind the scenes to diffuse the conflict.

Advisors are urging both sides to trust the president to do the right thing, pointing out that he was listening to his national security team before making a decision.

'TRUST IN TRUMP!' wrote White House communications advisor Steven Cheung on social media on Thursday. 'NO PANICANS!'

The White House said that Trump would continue to keep his promise to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.

'President Trump has never wavered in his stance that Iran cannot obtain a nuclear weapon and repeated that promise to the American people since his victorious campaign. Americans trust President Trump to make the right decisions to keep them safe,' White House deputy press secretary Anna Kelly said to the Daily Mail in a statement.

KHAMENEI, WHO HAS MADE THE DESTRUCTION OF ISRAEL HIS BANNER, CANNOT BE ALLOWED TO CONTINUE TO EXIST

The Khamenei countdown: Why Israel can wait no longer

The Iranian leader's recent escalation—targeting Israel’s Soroka Medical Center with missiles—crossed a red line.

When it comes to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu affirmed, every option is on the table and Israel will do “what we need to do.”

This echoed a chilling but resolute statement from Israel Katz, the defense minister, who openly vowed to shorten the days of Iran’s leader.

Katz did not speak in vague hypotheticals. His message was targeted and unambiguous: “A dictator like Khamenei, who leads Iran and has made the destruction of Israel his banner, cannot be allowed to continue to exist.”

But this isn’t a new threat. Khamenei’s genocidal intent has been clear for decades. What is new is the strategic shift: a pivot from merely targeting Revolutionary Guard commanders to putting the regime’s core leadership itself in the crosshairs. The gloves are coming off.

Until now, Israel showed restraint, rooted in the Trump administration’s vision for an American-led detente with Tehran, one that might culminate in a nuclear deal. As a result, Israeli and American actions focused on military operatives rather than political decision-makers. But that era is ending.

Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social: “We know exactly where the so-called ‘Supreme Leader’ is hiding. He is an easy target, but is safe there—We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now. But we don’t want missiles shot at civilians or American soldiers. Our patience is wearing thin.”

Israel, meanwhile, never pretended to rely on foreign decisions. Netanyahu has always made clear that while preventing Iran’s nuclear breakout and dismantling its missile capabilities are top priorities, Israel will act if the regime itself poses an existential threat.

That time may now be upon us.

Khamenei, increasingly unmasked, continues to display his defining traits: cruelty, messianic fanaticism and ruthless grip on power. His worldview is apocalyptic: a divine mandate to ignite a final war that ends with the coming of the Mahdi.

In the real world, he is a despotic autocrat who has ruled Iran since 1989, presiding over a regime accused of amassing $57 billion in foreign accounts—for himself and his son Mojtaba, his apparent heir.

His recent escalation—targeting Israel’s Soroka Medical Center with missiles while women gave birth and doctors evacuated cancer patients—crossed a red line. It forced the question: Can the world afford to leave this man at the helm of a regime racing toward nuclear capability?

Iran ballistic missile hits hospital in Israel, dozens injured

An Iranian ballistic missile strikes Beersheba’s Soroka Medical Center on June 19, 2025

Israel’s answer is increasingly clear.

This confrontation is the culmination of a decades-long trajectory that has proven one truth: stopping Iran’s nuclear program requires direct confrontation with the regime. Under Khamenei, Iran has produced figures like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Ebrahim Raisi—executioners before they were presidents.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has extended its reach into every corner of Iranian life and turned dissent into a capital offense. Women, LGBTQ citizens and minorities have been brutally suppressed, especially after the murder of Jina Mahsa Amini sparked global outrage.

And all the while, Khamenei exported terror abroad. Through Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis and proxies embedded across the region, Iran launched rockets, sent cash, and sowed instability—while building its nuclear infrastructure at home.

The so-called “Axis of Resistance” isn’t just an alliance; it’s Khamenei’s vision for Islamic dominance. Periodically, to appease the West, Tehran has offered up “reformist” facades—first Mohammad Khatami and now Masoud Pezeshkian, following Raisi’s death in a helicopter crash. But the reality beneath never changes.

When Israel eliminated Ismail Haniyeh—the mastermind of the Oct. 7, 2023, atrocities in Tehran—it marked a turning point. Iran responded with 180 ballistic missiles. That too failed. Hezbollah’s campaigns have stalled. Syria’s bases are shattered. The Houthis, emboldened, are being systematically rolled back. Khamenei’s fortress is cracking.

And yet, what sustains him may be more dangerous than anything: absolute faith in a messianic mission where he and his son are the chosen prophets of global Islamic victory.

But messianism doesn’t shield you from missiles. And prophets don’t get to hold nuclear bombs.

For Israel, the conclusion is as grim as it is clear: a nuclear Iran under Khamenei is not an option. And increasingly, it appears that Trump may agree.

The clock is ticking.

Senators Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco) and Jesse Arreguin (D-Berkeley) have introduced SB627, known as the "No Secret Police Act." This proposed legislation would make it a misdemeanor for any law enforcement officer - local, state or federal - to wear masks or facial coverings while interacting with the public, except in limited circumstances such as wildfire smoke or declared public health emergencies.

This bill raises serious concerns regarding officer safety, particularly in tactical, undercover, and high-risk operations where facial coverings can be critical to protecting identities and preserving safety.

CNOA is closely monitoring this bill and engaging with stakeholders to ensure your voice is represented.

Acting on Thursday on a 3-0 vote the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals said that President Trump DID in fact have the authority to activate and fedrealize the California National Guard without the permission of Gavin Newsom.  They said that Trump was a bit of a dick in the manner in which he did it, but what he did was legal and reasonable considering the situation in LA at the time.

Newsom has said the state will appeal.  No surprise there.  They have plenty of money to fight with Donald Trump and give freebies to illegal aliens but they can't fix the fucking potholes.

Iran boasted that all its nuclear material had been moved to 'a safe place' before Israeli missiles struck its nuclear sites.

'Israel hit Natanz, Isfahan, Khandab, and Arak, but they were already evacuated,' Iranian commander Mohsen Rezaei said on Thursday.

'All the materials have been moved to a safe place,' he added.

Israel has been launching missiles at Iran in an attempt to cripple its nuclear capabilities since last Friday, and US President Donald Trump was thinking about getting involved.

But, Trump dramatically stepped back from the brink last night as Britain prepared to take part in peace talks with Iran.

In the previous 48 hours, the US President had demanded Iran's 'unconditional surrender' and threatened air strikes 'in days'.

However, after spending the afternoon locked away in the White House Situation Room, which he has dubbed 'the War Room', he said he would give Tehran two weeks in which to make a deal.

Negotiations will start today with Britain, France and Germany due to sit down with Iran's foreign minister in Geneva.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt read out a statement from Mr Trump that said: 'Based on the fact that there's a substantial chance of negotiations that may or may not take place with Iran in the near future, I will make my decision whether or not to go within the next two weeks.'

The dramatic developments came on another day of horror as an Iranian ballistic missile struck Soroka Hospital, in Beersheba, which suffered extensive damage.

The attack, a direct hit, left 71 injured and saw prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowing revenge.

'Iran's terrorist tyrants launched missiles at Soroka Hospital and at a civilian population in the centre of the country,' he said. 'We will exact the full price from the tyrants in Tehran.'

The hospital hit threatened to tip the Middle East into all-out war as Israel's defence minister, Israel Katz, said that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran's Supreme Leader, 'can no longer be allowed to exist', branding him 'the modern Hitler'.

Mr Netanyahu also refused to rule out an assassination attempt. The US has previously vetoed two attempts on Khamenei's life.

Israel also intensified its aerial attacks on Iran, blowing a large hole in a heavy water nuclear facility in Arak, having warned locals to evacuate the area in advance.

Earlier in the week an Israeli strike hit the building housing Iran's state broadcaster in Tehran. Mr Trump's surprise retreat appeared a victory for the UK-led diplomatic push as Sir Keir Starmer appealed for 'cool heads'.

The Prime Minister said: 'The principle is we need to de-escalate this. There is a real risk of escalation here that will impact the region, akin to Gaza, and will impact the economy.

'Yes, the nuclear issue needs to be dealt with but it is better dealt with by way of negotiations rather than conflict.

'I have been absolutely clear, we need to de-escalate this.'

Last night, Foreign Secretary David Lammy held talks with the US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington. Mr Lammy's also reinforced the de-escalation message.

It is understood Mr Lammy will fly back from the US to attend the crunch discussions in Switzerland with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi.

French and German foreign ministers are also due to attend. But the countries' positions on the conflict are opposed.

France's president Emmanuel Macron has been critical of Israel and called for peace, while Germany's chancellor Friedrich Merz has supported Israel's actions.

President Trump's peace envoy Steve Witkoff is also understood to be speaking to the Iranian foreign minister, who has repeatedly insisted Iran is acting in self-defence.

Britain and Europe were also said to have warned Mr Trump that bombing Iran would put Westerners at risk, fearing that it would trigger a wave of revenge attacks.

The two-week time limit is a tactic the President has used before, notably with Vladimir Putin over the future of Ukraine.

But, given that deadline has now twice passed without any concessions from the Russian president, questions were last night being asked of how serious all of Mr Trump's tough talk is.

Calls for a pause in hostilities came hours after US sources confirmed that the President had signed off detailed plans for US operations against Iranian nuclear facilities, believing they needed to be wiped out to stop Tehran forging an atomic bomb.

Israel has attacked what it can but only 30,000lb US 'bunker buster' bombs have the capability to destroy plants such as at Fordow, deep in a mountain.

Sources told CBS News that Mr Trump was open to letting Iran shut down Fordow but had made up his mind that it could not continue to operate. 'He believes there's not much choice,' one source said. 'Finishing the job means destroying Fordow.'

The Israelis have also said that Operation Rising Lion, as the now seven-day bombing campaign has been called, would be a failure if Fordow remained.

Ms Leavitt said that regime change was not Mr Trump's priority and called for people to 'trust President Trump'. She stressed that there was no change in the US's position that Iran cannot have a nuclear bomb.

However, his apparent climbdown may owe more to how divisive military action was among President Trump's supporters, with the question of whether to bomb Iran causing infighting among his base.
