Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded to a new social media post by President Donald Trump calling for his trial to be canceled. In a post on his X account, Netanyahu wrote, "Thank you again, Donald Trump. Together, we will make the Middle East great again!"
This marked the second time in recent days that Trump has called for Netanyahu's corruption trial to be ended.
On Saturday night, Trump published a scathing post on his social media platform Truth Social, attacking Israel's judicial system and calling for Netanyahu's trial to be ended.
Trump described the proceedings as a "political witch hunt" that he claimed was jeopardizing negotiations with Iran and the terrorist organization Hamas, and warned it could harm US-Israel relations. "What they are doing to Bibi Netanyahu in Israel is a disgrace," he wrote. "He is a war hero and a prime minister who has done a wonderful job working with the United States to help eliminate the dangerous nuclear threat from Iran."
Last week, Trump made a similar appeal, urging that Netanyahu's trial be canceled immediately or that he be pardoned. "The trial of Bibi Netanyahu should be canceled immediately, or a pardon should be given to a great hero who has given so much to his country," he posted on Truth Social.
