Thieves have carried out a brazen ATM heist early on Christmas Eve at a Texas 7-Eleven, using a stolen SUV to rip the cash machine out as surveillance cameras captured the carnage.

Police say the suspects hit the store in northwest Fort Worth around 3:45am, while it was open and the lights were on.

One suspect smashed through the entrance and rushed inside while an accomplice waited outside in an SUV.

Moments later, the pair hooked a metal cable from the vehicle to the ATM inside the store and floored it, dragging the machine out through the doorway and leaving the store badly damaged.

The force of the ATM being violently ripped from its position demolished shelves in an instant, leaving packets of chips and other products all over the floor.

The store's doors were demolished, leaving a considerable amount of debris in their wake.

The video shows the ATM eventually breaking loose. The machine was later abandoned along a nearby highway service road, along with the stolen vehicle.

Police say the getaway mirrors a pattern tied to similar ATM heist attempts across the Dallas–Fort Worth area.

Authorities say the wrecked 7-Eleven may be just the latest stop in a string of similar crimes

The White Settlement Police Department later released extended surveillance footage showing multiple camera angles of the destruction, including the ATM crashing through the entrance as the suspects fled.

The ATM eventually broke loose from the cable, forcing the suspects to abandon it along a nearby highway service road.

Officers recovered the heavily damaged machine, along with the safe still inside, police said.

The SUV used in the heist attempt was also abandoned not far from where the ATM was found.

Investigators determined the vehicle had been stolen from a Dallas apartment complex roughly an hour before the attempted robbery.

Police believe the suspects either fled the area on foot or were picked up by another vehicle.

Authorities say the wrecked 7-Eleven may be just the latest stop in a string of similar crimes.

White Settlement Police Chief Christopher Cook said investigators believe the same crew has carried out multiple ATM theft attempts at convenience stores across the Dallas–Fort Worth area - possibly all owned by the same business owner.

'He's been hit three times. He's got a lot of convenience stores in Dallas-Fort Worth,' Cook said.

'He really feels like the same people were involved. It is always a stolen SUV, it's always two guys, and they do the same thing.'

Cook described the attempted heist as especially alarming given the circumstances.

He called the crime 'brazen' because the store was open, 'well lit,' and located in 'a small town.' Despite the extensive damage, no injuries were reported.

The police chief said the case is being treated as a 'pretty serious felony' and urged anyone with information to come forward as investigators work to track down the suspects.

Police described the two suspects as men wearing black hooded sweatshirts, black pants, and face masks.

Both wore orange gloves; one wore white sneakers and the other, black sneakers.

I hope they have good insurance. That place is trashed.

The money box was still intact? They had to buy that cable somewhere. It looks commercial grade. Piss poor planning.
