Rodney Chatman, the University Vice President for Public Safety and Emergency Management, was placed on administrative leave just before Christmas.

Chatman had previously been the Chief of the University of Utah police department.  At the end of 2020 he was placed on administrative leave from that position.  He was charged administratively with "impersonating a police officer."  Apparently he did in fact NOT have a certificate from the Utah POST board.  He left that position permanently in 2021 according to the university.  According to Chatman's LinkedIn profile he was still there as of 2023.

According to the feds Brown University is under a "program review" to determine whether or not the campus complies with security requirements necessary to receive federal money.

Hugh Clements, formerly the Chief of Police of the city of Providence, is taking over as the interim Chief of the Brown University police.  He will be in charge of the after action report of the shooting and of implementation of new security protocols, most of which are supposed to be in place when classes resume June 6.
