A LONG AND NO DOUBT EXPENSIVE ROAD, BUT THE GOOD GUY WON

By Bob Walsh

 La Mota double homicide

Jason R. Steiner

On October 3, 2024, Jason Steiner, 35, was working in his legal weed shop in Portland, Oregon.  Three men entered wearing masks and carrying guns.  Steiner simply left the store carrying a small bag, which contained a pistol.  Steiner retrieved a gun from the bag once he was out of sight, returned to the walkway in front of his store and opened fire thru the front window at the bad guys still inside his store.  Two suspects, Tahir Burley, 20, and King Lawrence, 18, both did the dirt dance.  Bad guy #3 beat feet.  He was killed in another robbery in July of this year.

Steiner was prosecuted for murder because he didn't just leave his store and walk away.

The jury disagreed.  Not guilty on all charges.

EDITOR'S NOTE: I would never call the dispenser of marijuana, whether legal or not, a good guy.

I also have problems with his line of work. However, when compared to the three guys who tried to rob him, he is IMHO a good guy.
