It is a small step, but may be significant. An assistant
professor at U C Davis has been suspended for one quarter without pay
after she threatened Jewish journalists on social media. The university
asserted, probably correctly, that her stupidity damaged the
university's reputation (such as it is) and sewed fear among the student
body and amongst staff.
In
October of 2023 (justice delayed??) Jemma DeCristo put out a tweet
asserting that there is "easy access" to Zionist journalists who spread
propaganda and misinformation" along with a visual of a knife and an ax
both dripping blood. She also opined that "they should fear us more."
The
university started taking the matter seriously when alumni started
withholding donations and specifically tied this action to DeCristo.
DeCristo is still on the roster as an employee.
She
was interviewed twice by investigators. She gave them a prepared
statement both times and asserted that she had not done or said anyting
anti-Semetic and further that she was the victim in the whole
situation.
