An Oakland Tribune photographer was robbed of two cameras and her laptop Monday, the sixth such robbery within the last six weeks. Most of these robberies have taken place near the San Pablo mural.
While it is unfortunate (I don’t really have a Schadenfreude thing going on here) I do think it is appropriate for the press (and politicians) to get occasional up-close views of the real world. Maybe not that up-close or potentially dangerous, but we don’t live or work in isolation and neither should they.
