On Saturday a group of people were engaging in a little impromptu target practice with a pellet gun at a family BBQ in Merced. In most places in California that is now illegal, but isn’t usually dangerous. They left the loaded pellet gun lying around after their plinking session and a 3-year old picked up the pellet gun and shot his 3-year old cousin in the face with it. The pellet struck the child in the eye, penetrated the socket and lodged in his brain. The youngster is in critical condition in the hospital.
Pellet guns are not toys. Don’t treat them as such!
