Bahia Amawi is, or more properly was, a school teacher and children's speech pathologist at a school in Texas. She had been there for nine years. Her new employment contract required her to affirm that she does not currently participate in any boycott of Israel and that she will not so participate during the term of her contract. She declined, so they refused to renew her contract (which isn't exactly firing her).
She is coming at her position from both directions. She does not much like Israel, but she also believes that this is an unreasonable prohibition on her right of free speech.
In May of last year Texas passed a law prohibiting contractors who do business with the state from supporting a boycott of Israel. A total of 26 states have similar legislation. The Pflugerville Independent School District asserts that they are merely following the law. Ms. Amawi was a contract employee and has filed suit in federal court alleging violation of her rights under the first and fourteenth amendments.

This pernicious little pro-Zionist bill in no way benefits the United states. It is an example of the Israeli-firsters putting a foreign country that takes billions of our foreign aid and spies on us before the needs and best interts of america. It shows the need to require AIPAC to register as a foreign agent.
These politicians love to do the tel Aviv two step to show their masters that they will sell out America to benefit the Zionist state if it will give them shackles and Jewish votes.
Read Michael Scheuer, the bin laden unit hero. He exposes these traitors for who they are
Allah Akbar, Heil Hitler, or whatever.
Anonymous, while I disagree with the vitriol you employ in your dislike of the state of Israel, I also believe that your fundamental premise is incorrect.
The United States has an abiding self-interest in maintaining the strength of its allies.
While reasonable minds may differ, it certainly is not an irrational position to take that in the turbulent middle east, there is only one , true, democratic country, what I call Israel, and you refer to as "The Zionist State". The United States and various state governments logically conclude that in the land of isis and terrorism, the stability of a democratic ally is sufficiently critical that engaging in a boycott and weakening it is not in the interest of the United States.
Speaking of Bin laden, the United States also gives more money to Pakistan annually than Israel, and all we got from them was the sheltering of Bin laden.
As to AIPAC registering as a foreign agent, its stated mission is to improve ties between the United States and Israel, not lobby for the interests of a foreign power. While you may believe that is not what it in fact does, it fully complies with the law as written.
Also, it has been reported through various news outlets that Israel does a lot for the US that is not widely reported, so as to not anger our other "Allies" in the Muslim world.
Bryan, you might also point out that the money given Israel requires Israel to use it for purchasing its fighter planes and other arms from American manufacturers.
As for that Anon, he sounds like he is a Palestinian or neo-Nazi.
Yes, it is the definition of a symbiotic relationship.
Unfortunately, most people wrongly assume that AIPAC and pro-Israel Americans are the cause of military aid. They are ignorant of the fact that the United States has only one true, stable Democratic alliance in that part of the world, Israel. Who else can the us count on for both intelligence and military support? Egypt? Syria? The good mullahs in Iran? I only wish there was more information inthe public domain on how Israel has been there time and time again, supporting the United States in wars and in intelligence matters that have saved countless American lives.
Perhaps then, people would better understand why we support “the Zionist state”
Unfortunately, the Jewish left and the George Soros self haters of the world are doing everything they can to harm Israel with their disinformation campaigns.
