Within the last few days the Food and Drug Administration has announced that they have begun a criminal probe into the eight deaths and several hundred hospitalizations that are connected to vaping. Right now the guesstimate is that most or even all of the trouble is being caused by black market cartridges with non-approved material in them. Trouble is there is no solid commonality between the deaths or even the hospitalizations, at least so far.
Fortunately the feds are actually pretty good at this sort of thing. In the meantime local and state jurisdictions are moving to ban flavored e-cig products (like bubble gum, cotton candy and fruit flavors) to try to put a ding in the body count.
I wish them luck with that. Teenagers and young adults think they are immortal.
