Two days ago there was a "march," in fact a number of them, across the planet. Many of the participants were school children. The NYC school district gave their students permission to cut class to participate in the "march." Many of the participants are young people who have drunk the Kool Aid and really, really believe the horse shit the environmental radicals are throwing out. They are not necessarily stupid, but they are ignorant.
They don't know that 20 years ago Al Gore said that if we did not act massively and immediately that within ten years our planet would be pretty much destroyed. We didn't. It isn't. They are so clueless they don't even know Alexandria Occasionally Correct's own people have said in public that her Green New Deal has nothing to do with environmental protection, it is merely a handle to get control of as much of the country's economy as possible and change it to socialism.
The current poster child is a youngster named Greta Thunberg from Sweden. She is bright, articlulate and committed. Trouble is she is wrong. Passion does not, or at least should not trump, reality. Facts matter. History did not start last week, or last month, or last year. Develop some critical thinking skills. PEOPLE LIE FOR POLITICAL REASONS ALL THE TIME. Sure you want to save the planet. Sure you want to be part of something important that is maybe bigger than yourself. Nothing wrong with that. Wouldn't it be nice if what you are joining was something other than a huge pile of horse shit?

I skipped a good portion of my senior year as a Hippie Surfer in Galveston. If there was a cause that called for skipping class, I was in. Earth Day brought out plenty of girls in hip hugger jeans, peace sign necklaces and free love. We enjoyed sharing a bottle of Boone's Farm Strawberry in the back of my van.
Useful idiots.
