Newsom, the God-Emperor of the formerly great state of California, has
decreed that a 2200-0500 curfew shall be in effect in all of the
counties in California that are in the Violet (or maybe it's Cyan or
Lavender, I'm not sure) tier of plague. That is 41 counties at the
moment. The order specifies that it can be enforced by local law
enforcement. It isn't real clear from the little bit I have read what
the enforcement action is. Perhaps they will cite you. Perhaps they
will Taser you and put you in your trunk with a dead cat for the rest of
the evening. It isn't real clear.
The
Sheriff of Sacramento County has already announced that his deputies
will NOT be enforcing any curfew. He is suggesting that anybody who is
bothered by somebody breaking curfew should call the Dept. of Public
Health for enforcement action. Sacramento is one of the counties on
double-secret probation or whatever the hell the most restrictive level
of plague is this week.
