Kaleb
Barnes, 12, and his bud Ethan Hollis, 13, were out riding their
bicycles in the Autumn Cove subdivision on Sunday when Caren, AKA
Patricia Compton, pulled a gat on them.
The
boys were out and about and heard some strange noises, possibly an
animal in distress, and went to investigate. In the process they almost
certainly went onto Ms. Compton's property. The property was not the
lot on which her home was, but an adjacent property with some
outbuildings. At that time Compton approached them, pulled a gun, and
said "Stop or I'll shoot you." Kaleb froze. Ethan beat feet to
Kaleb's grandparents house who called the cops.
The
Byron police responded to the scene. The cops explained to Compton
that since this took place in daylight hours and the children were no
apparent threat to her, that her actions were illegal. She then told
the cops that, had the kids approached her, she would have shot them.
At that time they arrested her happy ass for aggravated assault. She
was later charged with additional counts of aggravated assault as well
as child cruelty, terroristic threats and being ugly and stupid in
public.
