Police in Brooklyn are on the lookout for a teen couple who was caught on surveillance camera while beating up a 60-year-old woman who had asked them to wear their face masks at a subway station in New York.

Authorities say the incident took place in the afternoon of Nov. 13 at the Barclays Center subway station on Atlantic Avenue.

In the surveillance footage released by the police, an elderly woman can be seen waiting for the elevator at the subway station while a maskless couple approaches her and waits along with her. Just before entering the elevator, the elderly woman notices the couple was not wearing masks and asks them to do so. The young man and woman refuse to cover their faces. When the elderly woman stops them from taking the elevator with her without face coverings, the male assailant pushes his way into the elevator, and the female assailant can then be seen throwing a punch at the elderly victim.

While the two women get into a fistfight, the male assailant exits the elevator and pounces on the elderly woman then smacks her to the ground. The victim is then brutally beaten up by the couple while she lays on the ground. At this point, the elderly woman can be seen getting punched several times on her face and body.

The suspects immediately fled the scene after the assault, police said. A lookout has been initiated as of Wednesday for the couple seen in the footage. They are believed to be in their late teens and are yet to be identified, CBSN New York reported.

In the surveillance video, the male suspect is dressed in a black knit cap, black jacket, and grey pants. Meanwhile, the female suspect is seen wearing a black and white sweater and dark pants. Both of them are carrying backpacks in the footage.

The elderly woman, whose name hasn’t been disclosed, suffered bruises on her face and a minor injury to the leg. She was taken to a hospital for treatment. She was released later and is expected to recover soon.

Police are seeking help from good Samaritans to identify the suspects. Anyone with information regarding this incident or the suspects is asked to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-8477 or 1-888-577-4782 for Spanish.
