HAMILTON COUNTY, Ohio
Sheriff's Deputies in Hamilton County, Ohio had a little
disagreement back in February with a man armed with both a baseball bat
and an axe. The prosecutor has just determined that the shooting of the
idiot was justified.
The
incident started when deputies responded to a call of a man with a bat
and an axe charging at passers-by. The cops had interacted with him
earlier in the day. They dropped in to talk to him again and he swung
an aluminum baseball bat at one of the officers, who backed off. He
then charged the cops wielding an axe. The cops nailed him with a
beanbag round with little effect. He fled, still armed with the axe,
and one cop fired on him, hitting him in the hand. He then turned,
threw the axe at the cops and then charged them.
He
tried to grab a deputies service pistol, at which time he was shot
twice. He then got a free ride to the hospital, in critical condition.
I have a sneaking hunch there was some substance abuse involved in this incident.
