The United States DOJ is suing Maine over what they
assert are acts of discrimination in their education operations. The
specific bone of contention is Maine hanging tough in their position
that it is perfectly acceptable for biological boys and men to compete
directly against girls and women in sports. The feds are also moving to
pull back federal money previously given to Maine.
It
will be interesting to see how this comes out long term. The Supreme
Court has original jurisdiction in cases like this should they choose to
accept it. This MIGHT work out quickly, but I sort of doubt it.
