FBI BUSTS TOP U.S. JUDGE FOR ALLEGEDLY BUYING DRUGS FOR HIS STRIPPER GIRLFRIEND

A top U.S. [federal] judge has been caught in an undercover 'sting' operation while allegedly trying to buy drugs for his stripper girlfriend.
Senior District Judge Jack Camp Jr was arrested with two handguns after allegedly going armed to the drug deal.
The 67-year-old married father of two had allegedly been buying the drugs for his stripper girlfriend - apparently unaware she was an informant for the FBI and had allegedly set him up as part of sting operation investigating corruption among public officials.
Camp, who was known for handing out tough sentences and quoting Shakespeare in his court, was arrested in the parking lot of a nightclub after the attempted drug deal on Friday.
FBI agents found he had two handguns which he said he brought along for protection.
Appearing before a court in Atlanta, Georgia, prosecutors outlined the case against for the former chief judge for the state's northern district.
They claimed that Camp first met the stripper when he was given a private lap dance at the Goldrush ShowBar in Atlanta earlier this year.
They said he later returned to the club and ended up paying the stripper, who is identified by her initials CI, for sex and taking drugs with her.
An affidavit from FBI agents claimed that the stripper later became an FBI informant and taped many of her conversations with the judge.
The warrant claimed that Camp would pay the stripper for sex and they would snort cocaine together.
It is alleged that he and the stripper took part in several drug deals, when the judge would be armed.
In the deal that led to his arrest, Camp carried at least two pistols, his arrest affidavit states.
'I'll watch your back anytime 'cause I'm afraid, and I not only have my little pistol, I've got my big pistol,' the affidavit quotes Camp as telling the woman before setting off for the drug deal.
'So, uh, we'll take care of any problems that come up.'
FBI agents swooped on Camp after he bought the drugs from an undercover agent.
After his initial court appearance on drug possession and weapons charges he was freed on $50,000 bond. His lawyer said the judge intends to plead not guilty and would probably take a leave of absence.
Camp, a Vietnam war veteran who lives on a 175 acre farm, was appointed to the bench by President Reagan in 1987.
He presided over cases for more than 20 years and was chief judge before retiring last year and taking senior status, a form of semi-retirement in which he still handles cases.
As a judge, Camp had a reputation for handing out tough sentences.
Last year he sentenced former doctor Phil Astin to 10 years in prison for prescribing drugs to Chris Benoit, the professional wrestler who killed his wife, son and then himself in 2007.
His lawyer Bill Morrison said:"This is really a case between Judge Camp and his wife.
'It's not a case of Judge Camp being a judge, it's a case of Judge Camp being a husband.'
