OBAMA: GUN AND AMMUNITION SALESMAN OF THE YEAR

The Sandy Hook massacre gave Obama and his fellow Democrats the opportunity they have been waiting for … an assault on assault weapons and enactment of stricter gun controls.

Congratulations to Barack Obama on being named the Gun and Ammunition Salesman of the Year by Smith and Wesson! Maybe he will win a free trip to Hawaii and save us taxpayers $3.6 million.

With the help of a compliant press and of the entertainment business, which makes the violent video games and movies that I think play the biggest role in mass shootings, Obama seized on the Sandy Hook shooting rampage to call for more gun control. There are two hypocrisies here: First, Obama, Hollywood and the mainstream press are all protected by gun-toting security. They are safe precisely because their guards have guns. Second, if more laws and gun control really worked, Obama could just outlaw all mass shootings.

You know Obama is serious about the issue because he gave it to his trusted deputy, Joe "Crest Strips" Biden. The Barney Fife-like Biden used his one bullet with his 2010's "summer of recovery" cold case.

Obama aligns himself with other famous world leaders who forced gun bans and controls on their people as early as they could: Adolph Hitler, Benito Mussolini, Fidel Castro, Joseph Stalin, Mao Tse-Tung, Idi Amin, Pol Pot, Kim Jung-Il, Muammar Qaddafi and Hugo Chavez. These guys put the "dic" in dictator. No leader can have absolute power until he is the only one armed.

In regard to the Second Amendment, when you are told by politicians that you do not need it, that's when you need it most. A buddy of mine jokes that liberals are so fearful of guns because, deep down, they know they are guilty of so many things for which they could be shot.

We live in an increasingly divided country. Half of us want to be protected by Obama and the other half want to be protected from him. He disdains those who "cling to their guns and religion." The wake of the Sandy Hook shootings is one of his "don't let a good crisis go to waste" moments and is a chance to hurt them.

Facts seldom matter in politics. The deranged Sandy Hook shooter tried to buy a rifle but was denied. According to Dr. Alan Bates, "Murder rates nationwide have dropped 52% over the past 20 years and violent crimes have declined for the past 18 of 20 years by 49% to a 41-year low (FBI stats), synchronous with 41 states adopting 'right to carry' laws."

And you never heard about this: the Pearl, MS high school shooting was stopped by Assistant Principal Joel Myrick. In violation of federal law, he went to his truck and got his .45 semi-automatic pistol. Nor do we hear about the up to two million times a year that citizens use guns to thwart murder, rape, assault, robbery, etc. The media ignore these stories because they don't fit their narrative.

Obama deputized doctors under ObamaCare to question patients on their guns and where they store them. He will not get good information. According to medical forms filled out at doctors' offices all across our country, no one drinks, smokes, or uses drugs. We all exercise five days a week and have only monogamous sex.

Maybe when Mexican drug lords get their free ObamaCare, we can get accurate information on if their guns came from Operation Fast and Furious.

We need a balanced study on guns -- and not from the hysterical hyenas on either side of the issue. With the results, and after the emotion of a school shooting has faded and reason can prevail, perhaps we can reduce some of the bureaucracy surrounding gun ownership and dispel some of the myths. Only 323 deaths last year were caused by assault weapons. 496 Americans were killed with hammers and 650 with knives. 12,000 people died because of drunk drivers. Millions of Americans are dying from obesity-related causes; perhaps a one-week waiting period to buy a Twinkie is next? Or shall we confiscate all forks?

We really need to move slowly and within the bounds of sensibility on this issue. There are some 300 million guns in America now. And, like the 12 million illegal aliens already here, they ain't going away.

This is one hell of a good piece of writing.
