TAX PAYERS STUCK WITH PAYING FOR 3445-SQUARE-FOOT, $8,350-PER-NIGHT BEIJING HOTEL SUITE

That $8,350 is just for housing Michelle Obama, her daughters and her mother, and does not include the cost for housing her entourage and Secret Service agents who are occupying several of the hotel's top floors to be near the First Lady’s luxury suite

The website of the Westin Beijing Chaoyang Hotel calls Mrs. Obama’s Jinmao Presidential suite “an oasis of comfort.” Here is how the Westin Beijing Hotel describes the Obama suite:

Every element of the Jinmao Presidential suite is designed to please and pamper. Gorgeous furnishings in neutral tones are stylishly tailored—including corner sofas with silk pillows, stunning original artwork, and three levels of lighting. You will find this suite is an oasis of comfort, complete with 24-hour private butler service. Enjoy an impromptu gathering with a full honor bar with refreshments, or order exquisite in-room dining at your table for six. Enjoy some time out in the full-size massage chair or a run on the Life Fitness® treadmill.

Slumber peacefully in our world-renowned king-size Westin Heavenly® Bed, an oasis of lush sheets, down cushioning, a generous collection of plush pillows, and a patented pillow-top mattress. With ten layers of comfort, this custom bed is designed for a deep, undisturbed sleep that energizes your body and brain. The stage is set for a great night—and an even better tomorrow. Refresh with a rainforest shower or enjoy a soak in the Jacuzzi tub in your beautifully appointed master bathroom, complete with steam room and sauna.

A hotel front desk clerk informed the Daily Mail that Michelle’s mother has been “barking at the staff since she arrived and we can’t wait for this to be over.” It would seem as though the First Lady’s mother expects to be treated like royalty.

According to The Washington Times, an entourage of about 70 people is accompanying the First Lady. That has forced the Westin Beijing hotel to kick guests with previous reservations out of their ‘executive-level’ rooms. Front desk clerks say they have been swamped by angry guests who have been kicked out of their reserved rooms and put into ordinary hotel rooms.

The Daily Mail reports that Secret Service agents together with Chinese security officers screen everyone who enters the hotel building, including paying guests, at checkpoints resembling those found at airports. Secret Service agents are also blocking off elevators long before the Obamas and their entourage need them.

Hmm, this hardly looks like the “People to People” trip – as the White House calls it - that is designed to improve relations between China and the U.S.

Who knows what this sightseeing trip is going to cost the taxpayers. Judicial Watch reports that it cost more than $11 million for President and Mrs. Obama to be in Africa for less than 13 hours last December to attend the Nelson Mandela memorial service. Their week-long African trip to Senegal, South Africa, and Tanzania in 2013 reportedly cost more than $100 million.

They don't have Motel 6 in China? It must be great to vacation first-class on somebody elses dime.
