OVERKILL?: MICHAEL BROWN SHOT AT LEAST 6 TIMES

At the request of Brown’s mother, former NYC chief medical examiner Dr. Michael Baden conducted an autopsy Saturday on Brown which showed he was shot four times in the right arm and twice in the head

Dr. Michael Baden flew to Missouri at the request of Michael Brown’s mother and conducted a private autopsy Saturday on Brown.

Dr. Baden is the former chief medical examiner for New York City. Dr. Baden’s autopsy showed that Brown had been shot at least six times and that all the bullets entered the front of his body. Four shots struck Brown’s right arm, one bullet entered his right eye and another the top of his head. Some of the bullets entered and exited the body several times, including one that caused at least five wounds. One shattered his right eye, went through his face, left through his jaw and re-entered his collarbone.

Dr. Baden found no gun powder residue on his body, but he did not examine the clothing worn by Brown at the time he was shot.

On CBS This Morning, Dr. Lawrence Koblinsky, a forensic science expert and a professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, said that if there are no powder burns on the clothing, Brown would have been at least 2 or 3 feet away from Wilson when he was shot. He also said the shot to the top of Brown’s head indicated Brown “was either falling as the shot was fired or he was charging [at Officer Wilson] as the shot was fired."

Dr. Koblinsky thought the most important revelation was that every bullet struck Brown in the front of his body. That means Dorian Johnson, Brown’s crime partner, flat out lied when he told the media and the authorities that Brown was running away from Darren Wilson and that Wilson shot his buddy in the back.

The report that Brown had been shot six times infuriated the black community. Sunday night rioting broke out even before the curfew went into effect and it was the worst rioting so far. Molotov cocktails and other objects were hurled at the cops and some shots were fired at them. There was widespread looting. Capt. Johnson abandoned his Kumbaya tactics. The cops used armored vehicles, wore military-style garb and carried AR-15s while lobbing tear gas and firing rubber bullets. And now Gov. Nixon has ordered the National Guard into Ferguson to maintain order.

One of the reasons given for the previous rioting was the anger resulting from the refusal of authorities to release the results of the autopsy. However, when Dr. Baden’s autopsy report was released, it caused the worst rioting so far.

Despite the fact that Dorian Johnson flat out lied about Wilson shooting Brown in the back, the autopsy report does not look good for Officer Wilson. Was this a case of overkill? Dr. Koblinsky thought Wilson fired too many shots. Unless Wilson can prove that the 6’4”, 292 lb. Brown was charging at him, he is in some really deep shit.

I would humbly suggest that, assuming Brown was charging the officer when he was shot, it could very well be completely justified. If Brown tripped or feel and was falling forward as the officer fired shot # 6 and if that is the shot that went through the top of his head, killing him, that could be completely justified. Not that it matters. The feds will do everything they can to hang his ass even if the Grand Jury comes in with a no-bill, if for no other reason to pander to their base through the next couple of election cycles.

yes. 1 shot is more than enough to stop an UNARMED man….6 shots is murder!

Unless Mike Brown is a zombie, he would absolutely stopped moving forward after first shot or 2. Period. no question about it.

if you don’t believe me, imaging you, unarmed, running toward a man with a gun… would you keep running after being shot at?

no need to argue otherwise. This is MURDER.

Whoa there, Jianre, not so fast. You call it murder, I call it self defense. If some guy 6'4" weighing 292 lbs. who was probably over 100 lbs. heavier than me, came at me after already busting up my face, I would shoot him and keep shooting until his sorry ass was down and out, whether that took one shot, six shots or a dozen.

And it's obvious that you've had no experience in such situations. The fact that a person has been shot does not, in many cases keep him from continuing to charge at the shooter.

I don't think that a gun should have been the first reaction of the cop. Cops carry many weapons, tasers, pepper spray, a baton, etc. Six shots with two to the head of an unarmed man is unnecessary.

I hardly find it necessary for the cop to use his gun as a first reaction. The cop should have the strength and training to fend off a teen who is punching. Cops carry many other weapons (pepper spray, batons, tasers, etc) that could have been used first in an attempt to stop the teen if he was attacking or assaulting. Six shots in my opinion DEFINITELY could have been prevented and I consider that many shots to be overkill. I'm disturbed that this man was not found guilty and is not $400,000 richer for killing of an unarmed teenager
