AN ACTIVIST'S LOT IS NOT ALWAYS A HAPPY ONE

by Bob Walsh

Yvette Felarca is a national representative for By Any Means Necessary, a fascist anti-fascist group (it makes sense in Berkeley). She is also a middle-school teacher in the People's Republic of Berkeley. She filed for a restraining order against Troy Worden, the head of the Berkeley College Republicans, a while back, alleging that he was harassing her and stalking her by "following her" on the Berkeley campus. He even managed to get a selfie of the two of them together at a By Any Means Necessary event.

She was in fact granted a TRO, but dropped her request for a permanent order in October, about a month after her initial filing.

An Alameda County Court Commissioner ruled that her request for a restraining order was "not brought in good faith" He also ordered her to cough up $11,100 in legal costs to Worden. The Commissioner did, however, refuse to sanction her lawyer for bringing a frivolous legal action.
