Lake Tulloch is a very nice lake with a fair amount of housing built around it. It is up in the California foothills in a very pretty area.
On Sunday, just about noon, a private plane was flying low over the lake doing some visually interesting stuff for the benefit of some friends of his who were filming him from a boat on the lake.
In the process he clipped power lines, which he SHOULD have known were there but maybe didn't. He nosed over and went right down into the lake, killing the power for the whole area in the process.
The Sheriff's Office will have to bring in a barge with a crane to pull the wreck out of the lake. That may be a significant undertaking as it does not seem to me to be the sort of body of water where one has a barge with a crane on it just laying around.
It is a shame and a tragedy, but it was also stupid and should not have happened.
