In the wee hours of a Saturday morning late last month, police in the Liberty County town of Dayton were patrolling State Highway 146 when they encountered what must have looked like a a streak of metallic gray lightning.

They claim to have clocked a silver, late-model, Mercedes coupe at speeds up to 123 miles per hour, and say that the driver, 26-year-old James Steven Ferguson of Highlands (near Baytown) also blazed through a construction zone at around 100 mph.

After a short pursuit, Ferguson pulled over into a gas station, the blazing blue lights of three units behind him. Ferguson told them he had no driver's license and was ticketed for speeding and taken to the Liberty County Jail on the no license charge.

But maybe Ferguson's foot wasn't the only thing pressing down on the accelerator...

Somewhere along the way, the cops must have asked him why he was in such a hurry, because we know exactly why: Ferguson told the cops that he had a Viagra in his pocket and a lady friend who was ready to roll.

Maybe he should count himself lucky he didn't drop that pill before he was taken to the pokey.
