Jay Wall sent me some information under the subject of ‘Israeli Military Security Challenges.’ Hizbollah to the north and Hamas to the south of Israel have been armed by Iran and Syria with rockets that can reach all of Israel’s major cities, including Tel Aviv. The Hizbollah and Hamas fighters, who have fought the Israel Defense Forces armed primarily with AK-47s and RPGs, are now also well equipped with more powerful weapons.
In Israel’s last conflict with Hizbollah, the Israel Defense Forces failed to gain a victory over a guerilla army that could not match its weapons and in its invasion of Gaza, the IDF only managed to fight Hamas to a standoff. In both conflicts Israel did not fight an all-out war against its enemies in order to avoid international condemnation – which came in heaps anyway – and the IDF withdrew from Southern Lebanon and Gaza because the United States and the Europeans demanded a cessation of hostilities.
Today, Israel is confronted by a much better armed Hizbollah and Hamas. If the IDF could not defeat them when they were less well armed, what is it to do in any future conflict?
I predict that in any future conflict between Israel and Hizbollah or Hamas, the IDF will be forced to employ massive slash and burn all-out war tactics that will bring on worldwide condemnation and the likelihood that the Jewish State will be abandoned by its only ally, the United States. But any restraint by the IDF will result in a rain of deadly rockets on Tel Aviv and other Israeli cities and even the possibility of IDF military defeats.
My prediction brought forth the following comment from Stanley Burton, a blogger who specializes in political and military issues:
It's Saul Alinsky all over again. the only solution that Israel has available to them looks a lot like genocide. Which means that the world will condemn them for doing what will be portrayed as being the same things that the Nazi's did. It won't be at all the truth, but it will be "truthy" enough for those who really are just looking for an excuse. Israel has long known deep down it it's heart of hearts what it has to do, and what the price for it will be. But it has not found the will to do it. Until it does decide to wage all out war on those who would wipe it from the map, it will continue to be on the losing side. Because the simple truth is that the Arabs have declared unconditional war on them. their failure (and more importantly, OUR failure) to honestly acknowledge that is the real problem here.

I think that you and Mr. Burton have a firm grasp on the situation. bIt is only a matter of time. The only real question remaining is...how much time?
I know that it's terribly un PC of me to bring this up....but this is very much in line with Biblical end times prophesy.
