THE PERILS OF BEING A PAIN IN THE ASS

By Bob Walsh

It is dangerous being a pain in the ass. You can get by with it if you are very good at your job, or are generally a law-abiding person. If, however, you make a habit of sticking your thumb into the eye of the power structure and have some serious issues on the home front, you can count on them biting you on the butt.

Donald Dewsnup is variously described as a “gadfly” and “cyberactivist” in the People’s Republic of San Francisco. He is frequently homeless.

A major political power unit in S. F. is the Telegraph Hill Dwellers Neighborhood Association. Donald Dewsnup decided he needed to “infiltrate” that organization and gave a false address on a voter’s registration document. He also gave a false address on a Real Estate license application.

He is now looking at several felony counts of perjury and voter fraud. The DA went after him after receiving a phone complaint alleging voter fraud. The Dwellers automatically check membership applications against voter’s registration documents and apparently noted that Dewsnup’s indicated address was a vacant house.

Dewsnup, who also attempted to “takeover” a local Sierra Club chapter to initiate a pro-development agenda, is looking at the possibility of being a guest of the state for eight years. He is now out of jail released on his own recognizance pending trial.

EDITOR’S NOTE: He may be a pain in the ass, but a vacant house seems a logical place for a homeless man to camp out. Case dismissed!

Actually he wasn't living in the vacant house, he was just using that address. That is I guess where the fraud and perjury charges come from. I suspect if he was actually living there, at least at the time he filed the papers, they would have difficulty prosecuting him.
