The Ninth U. S. Circuit Court of Appeals is the most liberal, and most overturned, appeals court in the U. S. It is headquartered in California as one might expect. They issued a very interesting and important ruling today (05-15).
In the case of Teixeira vs Alameda County the court ruled that the Second Amendment is not a second-class amendment. The county ordinance under review forbade the placement of a gun store within 500 feet of any residential area, school, day care center, existing gun store or place where liquor was sold. That ordinance effectively barred any new gun stores from being opened in Alameda County.
The majority opinion said, “…the right of law-abiding citizens to keep and to bear arms is not a second-class right, subject to an entirely different body of rules than the other Bill of Rights guarantees.”
If a pack of liberal idiots like the Ninth Circuit can get it right maybe, just maybe, there is some slight hope for California.
