TEXAS LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR TELLS OBAMA TO KEEP HIS 30 PIECES OF SILVER

Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick promises Texas will not obey Obama’s edict on the use of public school bathrooms by transgenders

President Obama issued a directive Friday ordering all public schools in this country to allow transgender students to use the school bathrooms that match their gender identity. Schools that refuse to abide by Obama’s edict will lose their federal funding.

In 2015, Texas’ financially-pressed schools received $3.1 billion in federal funds.

Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick promised that Texas will not obey the President’s edict and so much as told Obama to shove his ‘dirty money’ up his ass.

Here are statements Patrick made before various news organizations:

“Well, in Texas, he can keep his 30 pieces of silver. We will not be blackmailed by the president of the United States.”

“I think the people of Texas would join with the legislature to try to find a way around it… to try to find money somewhere.”

“I don’t want their money. This is dirty money from the federal government. It’s really our tax money they’re sending back. We send it up clean to Washington, and he sends it back dirty. He says ‘I’m not going to give you your money, unless you do what I tell you to do.’ I don't like to be threatened.”

If the legislature carries out Patrick’s promise, Texas will be hard-pressed to fund a school system that is already badly underfunded.

I think a better solution is for the state to seek a court injunction barring the Obama administration from withholding the funds until the court determines whether or not Obama’s edict overreached his constitutional authority.
