The Philippines president admits he stabbed someone to death when he was 16
Appearing before a local Filipino group in the Vietnamese city of Danang on Thursday, Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte admitted that when he was 16, he stabbed someone to death over a look. Here is what he saud:
“When I was a teenager, I would go in and out of jail. I'd have rumbles here, rumbles there. At the age of 16, I already killed someone. A real person, a rumble, a stabbing. I was just 16 years old. It was just over a look. How much more now that I am president?”
Duterte, now 72, is attending Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation conference in Danang. He also told the Filipino group that if he met her, he would slap U.N. human rights reporter Agnes Callamard for condemning his take-no-prisoners war on drugs.
Duterte once called President Obama the Filipino equivalent of ‘son of a bitch’ for criticizing his war on drugs.
Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin are among the leaders attending the Danang conference. Trump is scheduled to leave Sunday for a two-day visit in the Philippines.
Like Trump, Duterte doesn’t cotton to criticism. He’s one mean hombre.
The Filipinos love Duterte and so do I. He’s one of the few leaders who’s got a handle on the drug problem. Our weak-kneed approach has led to the U.S. having the most insatiable hunger for heroin, cocaine, meth, marijuana and designer drugs in the world.
