A 911 operator who lectured a drowning woman for accidentally driving into floodwaters and told her to 'shut up' minutes before she died was once lauded as a model employee by police - as authorities announce her actions are now under investigation.
Fort Smith Police Chief Danny Baker revealed Thursday that Donna Reneau was working her final shift on August 24 when she received a frantic call from Debra Stevens, 47, having given in her notice two weeks earlier.
Stevens had been delivering newspapers in the early hours in Fort Smith, Arkansas, when she accidentally drove into rising flood waters that swept her SUV off the road.

A gal I used to date was a 911 operator for some period of time. The stress is really significant and you really have to have your head in the right place to do it successfully. Interacting regularly with angry, scared and / or hurt people who don't understand why you can not help them RIGHT THIS INSTANT does not bring out the best in most people.
