According to various media outlets this morning Israel
formally declared war on Hamas. I confess I am not quite sure how one
declares war on an organization that is not a nation-state, but I
understand the intent involved. This is going to be one of those things
where the Jews have to be willing to take it all the way to the bitter
end, and ride the heat that will without a doubt come with their
actions. That is, after all, a lot of what Hamas wants. They are
willing to get their fighters and civilians killed (as many of the
latter as possible, preferably on TV) to throw mud at the state of
Israel.
Already several air carriers have suspended flights into Israel. Yesterday some were turned around in mid-flight.
This
is going to get real, real messy before it is over. For everybody
involved including the poor bastards who just happen to get in the way.
