The new term for the Supreme Court just fired up this
week. They are, as usual, looking at some interesting and important
stuff.
The Consumer
Financial Protection Bureau, which is funded directly by the federal
reserve and not by congress, is coming under scrutiny. This funding
mechanism is being questioned before the court.
The
ability of the states to prevent people with domestic violence
restraining orders from having firearms legally is also under review.
The court is also looking at internal issues, specifically an ethics code.
It
is possible that the court will also dive in to some of Trump's
problems, specifically whether or not states can keep him off the ballot
in 2024 simply because they don't like him and pretend that his roll in
protesting the outcome of the 2020 election makes him legally
ineligible to be president.
States attempts to limit the availability of Mifepristone, an abortion inducting drug, is also under review.
