The formerly great state of California is, generally
speaking, an anti-gun state. A lot of that is Gavin Newsom personally, a
lot of it is the super-liberal super-majority in the legislature. They
do not honor carry permits from out of state and, until recently, were
very obstructive about issuing carry permits for their own citizens in
many counties.
I just got a
thing in the mail from the Second Amendment Foundation a couple of days
ago. It says that, due to the case of California Rifle and Pistol
Association vs LASD, and a ruling by the U S. District Court for the
Central District of California, effective the end of April, CA will have
to start at least accepting applications for carry permits from at
least some out-of-state residents.
The
way the article is read the ruling seems to apply only to persons who
are members of the organizations who brought the legal action. These
are the Second Amendment Foundation, the Gun Owners of America, the
California Rifle and Pistol Association and the Gun Owners of
California, as well as several specifically named plaintiffs. I am not
exactly sure why this is.
In any event there it is. I shall try to keep you up on this issue.

I wonder if the Texas State Rifle Association was involved.
