Valero
is a significant gasoline refiner in CA. After this year they won't
be. They just announced that they are shutting down their Benicia
refinery next year. This follows Phillips closing down a refinery in
SoCal.
There are of
course a lot of people in CA who would be very happy to see gasoline
more expensive and much harder to get in the formerly golden state. At
some point the normal people in CA will (I would hope) say ENOUGH OF THE
BULLSHIT and throw the idiots out of office. It hasn't happened yet. I
just hope there is a state left when it finally does.
