A police video image shows Officer Roy Olson shouting several
warnings before shooting 47-year-old Nathan Keesler of Antioch, who was
stabbing his father with a kitchen knife in Concord on Tuesday, Feb. 18,
2025.
OK, so on February 18 the cops in Concord, CA. respond to
a 911 call at almost 2 a.m. They got to the home on Natoma Blvd. and
found Nathan Keesler, 47, stabbing his father with a kitchen knife. The
cops objected strenuously to this activity. Then they shot Kessler.
Then Kessler got up, knife still in his hand. He tried to knife one of
the cops. They Tasered him, and shot him some more. Down he went
again. He then got up AGAIN, knife still in hand. They shot him
again. He went down and died. The cops fired 20 rounds. It has not
yet been announced how many times he was hit. One round hit the father,
who was at the time bleeding from multiple stab wounds. By the time
the lead had stopped flying there were five cops there, all with
functioning body cameras, so there is pretty good info on what happened.
The DA is investigating.
I strongly suspect that there were some substance abuse issues, mental health issues, or both involved in this mess.

9mm is inadequate at stopping power. I understand that most CA. agencies are mandated to carry 9mm. That's why people get shot 20 times before going down. .40 or above with a Double Tap.
