Much has been made in the lame-stream media in the last
couple of days about the "all female space crew" that just launched. It
is bullshit.
There is a
difference between CREW and PASSENGERS (which are cargo requiring life
support). The craft that took them up is totally autonomous. If any of
them in fact WERE a qualified pilot, which they weren't, they couldn't
actually fly the damn thing anyway. No controls. The craft is totally
either autonomous or remote controlled. The people on board do not fly
it.
So, what really
happened is seven very attractive women in very nice uniforms took a
ride for a couple of hours that included about 15 minutes in what is
technically termed outer space, where they got to float around in zero
gravity and look cute.
I
am not knocking it. It was cool. But they sure as hell were not a
crew. They were freight. That isn't sexy, but it is fucking accurate.
