The formerly great state of California has just filed
suit against the Trump Administration over the $939 billion dollars that
Trump just cut out of federal money going to schools in CA. The state
is asserting that since congress had previously appropriated the money
that Trump MUST spend it.
Also
Trump is appealing the judges ruling that is attempting to throw
roadblocks up in front of ICE in nine counties in SoCal to try very hard
to prevent ICE from arresting pretty much anybody except known bad
actors who currently have an outstanding felony warrant. ICE is making
much out of the fact that the big raid on the pot farm over the weekend
in SoCal turned up ten minors, nine of who had no parent or guardian
present.
My guess is that
the Trump appeal over ICE action will be successful. I am guessing that
will happen soon. I am less sanguine about the lawsuit over the
money. My own point of view is that there is a difference between
making the money available and saying that the feds MUST spend the
money. That being said I recognize that the other side of the coin is
not completely without merit.
