Nawfal: Secretary of State Marco Rubio just said out loud what European
elites spend billions trying to suppress: mass migration is erasing the
shared Western values that justify NATO's existence. And Brussels' response? Crying "interference" while fining X for allowing free speech.
Let's cut through the bullshit.
Rubio's
warning is mathematically correct. NATO exists because member states
share history, culture, ideology, and principles - not just a defense
agreement. Erase those foundations and you've got a glorified protection
racket with no moral justification. Europe's importing millions from
civilizations with fundamentally incompatible values, refusing to
enforce assimilation, then acting shocked when synagogues need armed
guards and Christmas markets need concrete barriers.
German
Chancellor Friedrich Merz called America's National Security Strategy
"unacceptable." EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen demanded
the U.S. "stay out of European affairs." These are the same people who
lecture Americans about democracy while fining social media platforms
hundreds of millions of euros for refusing to censor speech Brussels
doesn't like.
The
geographic split exposes everything. Eastern Europe - Poland, Hungary,
Czech Republic - openly agrees with Rubio. They've seen civilizational
collapse before. They know what happens when elites prioritize ideology
over survival. Western European leaders know Rubio's right too, but only
admit it privately because saying it publicly means career suicide in
Brussels.
Rubio
cited the Bondi Beach Hanukkah massacre - 15 dead from an Islamist
attack in Australia - as proof mass migration has global consequences.
He's correct. When you import hundreds of thousands from regions where
Jews are considered legitimate targets, eventually someone acts on that
programming. Australia's discovering what Europe learned the hard way:
you can't absorb millions from seventh-century honor cultures into
21st-century secular democracies and expect the fabric to hold.
The
sovereignty argument demolishes EU counterattacks. Every nation has the
right to control its borders, decide who enters, and set assimilation
standards. This isn't controversial - it's the literal definition of
statehood. Brussels' entire project depends on eroding that sovereignty,
replacing it with unelected bureaucrats in Belgium making decisions for
450 million people who never voted for them.
Von
der Leyen demanding America "stay out" while simultaneously demanding
American troops defend Europe is peak European elite entitlement. You
don't get to outsource your defense to U.S. taxpayers, import millions
who hate Western civilization, censor anyone who complains, then tell
Americans to shut up about it. Rubio's making explicit what Trump's been
signaling: if Europe wants to commit suicide, fine - but don't expect
Americans to pay for the funeral.
The
censorship angle reveals who's actually afraid of democracy. EU fines
on X aren't about "misinformation" - they're about controlling
narratives. When German citizens can't discuss migration policy without
risking prosecution, when French parents get investigated for
complaining about schools, when British subjects get arrested for social
media posts, you're not defending democracy - you're building the
surveillance state.
Eastern
Europe gets it because they've been occupied. They know what
authoritarianism looks like in practice, not just theory. When Hungary's
Viktor Orban or Poland's conservatives warn about civilizational
threats, Western elites call them "fascists." When those same threats
materialize - Swedish grenade attacks, French no-go zones, German New
Year's Eve mass assaults - suddenly it's "complex" and "we couldn't have
known."
You knew. You just didn't care because admitting you knew meant admitting the deplorables were right.
Here's
what happens next: Trump administration continues pressuring Europe to
choose between NATO's civilizational foundations and Brussels'
multicultural fantasy. Eastern European states increasingly align with
Washington over Brussels. Western European governments face growing
domestic pressure as citizens watch their cities transform. Either
Europe's elites wake up, or nationalist movements replace them.
Italy's
already testing this model under Giorgia Meloni. Austria just elected
the Freedom Party. Netherlands chose Geert Wilders. France's National
Rally gained record support. Germany's AfD polling second nationally.
These aren't fringe movements - they're populations rejecting
elite-imposed demographic transformation.
Rubio's
warning isn't interference. It's an ultimatum: shared values or just a
defense pact. Because if NATO is only about American troops protecting
European territory while Europe imports people who despise everything
NATO supposedly defends, why exactly are American sons and daughters
stationed in Germany?
Brussels
can't answer that question honestly without admitting their entire
project - borderless, post-national, demographically transformed Europe -
is incompatible with the alliance they demand America fund. So instead
they shriek about "unacceptable" American opinions while fining
platforms for allowing Europeans to express similar views.
The
civilization Rubio's defending built the modern world. Individual
liberty, rule of law, free speech, religious tolerance, scientific
method, representative government - these aren't just "Western values,"
they're the values that created functioning societies while most of
humanity lived under tyranny. Europe's elites are gambling they can
maintain these fruits while destroying the roots.
They're
wrong. And when the experiment fails - when the last synagogue closes,
when women's rights retreat, when speech becomes thoughtcrime, when
Paris looks like Karachi - don't expect Americans to fix it. We tried
warning you. You called us fascists.
Sovereign nations have the right to commit suicide. They don't have the right to demand others pay for it.
