Venezuela President Maduro is pictured captured by US forces
I heard most of Trump's speech this morning. You would
have thought he was Dwight Eisenhower on June 6. Yes, it was an
apparently well-executed military move. It was not a live fire
exercise. People were shooting back. We did take casualties, though no
deaths. We blew the shit out of their anti-aircraft capability and
then went in and took care of business. Grabbed Maduro and his wife and
took them away, probably to face trial in the U.S.
Trump
says we are staying to run the country. I am doubtful that that is a
good idea. IMHO we would be much better off staying in there just long
enough to find and recognize and interim government, make sure to
explain to them what time of day it is and then get the fuck out. But
then again I'm not president and nobody asked my opinion.
Short term, massive success. Medium term and long term, TBD.
