Valero announced this morning that they will be shutting
down their NorCal refinery in Benicia next month rather than April The
refinery is the largest employer and largest tax base in Benicia.
The
state is still attempting to find somebody who will buy AND OPERATE the
refinery, so far with no luck. CA oppressive anti-business and
anti-petroleum business climate probably has something to do with that.
Valero still has an operating refinery in the greater L A area and has said they will be able to supply their outlets in NorCal.
