OBAMA GOES OVER THE TOP TRYING TO DEFLECT CRITICISM

Obama is desperately trying to deflect the criticism of how his administration has handled the BP oil spill.

First he blamed the Bush regulatory policies for the spill. And every day for some 50-plus days, Obama has resorted to strong condemnations of BP, to the extent that he has damaged relations with Britain, our number one ally. Of course, the commander-in-chief also goes down to the Gulf coast for those on-the-ground photo-ops. Later this week Obma will meet with BP executives to give them the proper tongue lashing. All of this is nothing more than the political theatrics of trying to persuade the public that he is in control.

But now he has really gone over the top by comparing the oil spill to the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

FURY AS OBAMA COMPARES BP OIL SPILL TO 9/11 ATTACKS

US President Barack Obama has sparked fury amongst families of 9/11 victims by comparing the terrorist attack to the BP oil spill.

Mr Obama said there were 'echoes' between the Gulf disaster and the terror plot, which killed 2,995 people including 67 Britons.

He said that in the same way 9/11 has dominated foreign policy since it happened, the Gulf disaster will frame how America sees the environment and energy for years.

His comments were condemned as 'ridiculous' and out of touch with reality by those who lost loved ones when terrorists flew passenger planes into New York's World Trade Centre in 2001.

'I think he's off-base,' said former New York Fire Department Chief Jim Riches, who lost a son.

'These were terrorist attacks, these 9/11 murders, not something caused by people trying to make money.'

Howie, more and more lately, you're starting to sound like O'Riley on FOX News.

He did a great analysis of the President's speech about the oil spill tonight (6/15/2010).

Watch the rebroadcast later if you can...great commentary by several different news professionals.
