TIME FOR GUN OWNERS TO BE VIGILANT AGAINST GUN CONTROL ZEALOTS (2)

Gun control advocate says guns ‘have a way of making feeble old men feel less vulnerable’ and implies gun owners use the barrels of their guns for ‘masturbatory purposes’

On Friday’s PACOVILLA Corrections blog, Bob Walsh posted a report on the Colorado theater shooting. A number of comments followed, including the one in which I said that “Now is the time for gun owners to be vigilant against the gun control zealots. The Colorado theater shooting is sure to energize the (Sarah) Brady Bunch of gun control advocates and their Democrat allies in Congress.”

An apparent gun control advocate, Kyle Lavendor, replied to comments by Bob and me with a comprehensive comment of his own. My guess is that he is a parole agent, or possibly a street cop, because he said, “I still work the streets ……….”

Here is what Lavendor wrote and Bob’s reply thereto:

Kyle Lavendor said:

Dear Bob and “Professor” Curmudgeon,

Don’t be scared, guys. Not even that socialist-marxist -muslim Obama wants to take away your guns. But how about some common sense gun laws? Did you know that Congress has refused to consider laws that would ban the sale of assault weapons capable of firing 100 bullets without reloading, and declined to allow the Attorney General to restrict people on the terrorist watch list from purchasing weapons?

Holmes, the Colorado mass murderer, purchased all guns and ammunition legally in the past two months. This includes a shotgun, AR15 ASSAULT rifle, two glocks and a 100 round drum magazine. Additionally, through the INTERNET, he purchased over 6,000 rounds of ammunition – legally.

Are you fellas aware that the average American is 40 times more likely to be killed by gunfire than the average Englishman or Canadian? If the United States had the same gun murder rate as England since 2000, 100,000 murdered American men, women and children might still be alive today. Rolling with the NRA motto that “Guns don’t kill people, people kill people” leaves only one conclusion – Americans are inherently murderous thugs. I refuse to believe that’s the case.

Are you guys the type of gun zealots who believe that if you were in that theater, locked and loaded of course, you could have taken the suspect out and saved innocent lives? I bet you two fancy yourselves a hero in that scenario, right? Just think how things would have been different if Jesus was packing heat… he would have never gone up on cross, right guys?

There are even a FEW rational NRA members that want more restrictive gun laws, such as not selling to those on terrorist watch lists. But the NRA doesn’t represent gun owners, they represent gun manufacturers. That’s who pays the bills at the NRA and their motivation is to sell as many guns as possible, no matter the murderous consequences.

I know you love guys love your guns. They have a way of making feeble old men feel less vulnerable on the streets. I’ve even heard that some of you lube up the barrel on your Glocks for masturbatory purposes. Now that is true love. But c’mon, boys. I still work the streets and don’t need the extra resistance. Let’s just use common sense.

Bob Walsh replied:

You know, if you hadn’t made that snarky sexual comment some of your thoughts would have seemed in the same time zone as reasonable. Of course maybe you do get your rocks off on lubing up the old Glock and shoving it up your ass. Normal people don’t.

Your alleged stats on gun violence and personal safety may, or may not, have anything to do with reality. I do know that over a period of 40 years I have saved my ass three times from what would have likely been serious injury or possibly death due to the fact that I had a handgun on me. I am also aware that many people every years are “saved” by the mere display of a weapon without a shot being fired. One of mine was such an incident.

Roughly half the street cops in the US never fire their weapons on duty except on the range during their career. Does that mean that 50% of the cops should hit the streets every day without a weapon?

I like having options. A weapon is an option. You don’t have to use it, but it is comforting to know it is there.

If you think Canada or the UK are so wonderful, why don’t you move your happy ass there? In the UK there is zero (legal) private ownership of handguns, so the UK is 100% safe, right? (What do you mean, NO?)
