PROSECUTOR REFERS TO 17-YEAR-OLD THUG AS A CHILD

The prosecution in the George Zimmerman trial is trying for a judicial lynching

In a crass bid to sway the five mothers on the six-person jury in the Zimmerman trial, prosecutor John Guy referred to Trayvon Martin as a child several times Friday during his rebuttal arguments before the jury. He asked the jurors to use their hearts, not their heads in an obvious attempt to tug at the hearts of the five mothers.

Child my ass! 17-year-old Trayvon Martin is not a child. He is a pot smoking thug and thief. Unfortunately the judge would not allow the defense to present evidence that Martin is not the angelic teenager his parents and the media have painted him to be.

The prosecution tried unsuccessfully to have the jury consider a third option: Child Abuse. Knowing that their 2nd degree murder charge has been shot full of holes not only by the defense, but by their own witnesses as well, the prosecution has tried everything possible to pull off a judicial lynching.

In Florida, a person convicted of manslaughter can receive a life sentence if he used a gun. So if the jury brings in a guilty of 3rd degree murder verdict, Zimmerman still faces the possibility of a long term in prison.

While I have absolutely no respect for Zimmerman, I am convinced that he acted in self-defense when he shot Martin. He should never have gotten out of his car. The prosecution was right when it said that Zimmerman only got out of his car because he was carrying a gun. Zimmerman is a real jerk, but being a jerk is not a crime.

I hope the jurors will use their heads and not their hearts, but I believe they will think about the loss of a mother's child and convict Zimmerman of manslaughter. I hope to God I'm wrong!

UPDATE: I predicted that George Zimmerman would be convicted of manslaughter and I'm glad to say I was wrong.

Shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday Florida time, the jury of six women returned to the courtroom with a not guilty verdict in the killing of thug Trayvon Martin. To their credit, the jurors did use their heads and not their hearts. And the six women showed a great deal of courage knowing that a not guilty verdict might result in rioting by mobs of Martin's followers.

Unfortunately for Zimmerman, the not guilty verdict may not have ended his ordeal.

__It is possible that the Justice Department will now file civil rights charges against Zimmerman just as it did against the LAPD officers in the Rodney King case after they were acquitted.

__The NAACP wants local authorities to revisit the case and file hate-crime charges against Zimmerman.

__There is a good chance that Martin’s parents will file a civil lawsuit against Zimmerman, but that would amount to nothing more than harassment because he doesn’t have, and will likely never have, a pot to pee in.

In any event, from now on Zimmerman will always have to look over his shoulder for those who would want to kill him.

Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz says that the Zimmerman prosecutors should be disbarred for ‘prosecutorial misconduct.’ And let me add that the Justice Department officials who organized the rallies and protests against Zimmerman when the state failed to bring charges against him should be prosecuted, and Attorney General Eric Holder, who is ultimately responsible for that, should be made to resign.
