No. 9: John Manuel Quintanilla, 36, was executed Tuesday for the 2002 fatal shooting of a retired sheriff’s deputy during the robbery of a game room in Victoria. Quintanilla had been released from prison only a few months before the killing. He had been doing time for several burglaries, non-violent crimes of course.
No. 10: Vaughn Ross, 41, was executed Thursday for a 2001 double murder in Lubbock. At the time, Ross was a graduate student at Texas Tech University. He was convicted of fatally shooting his girlfriend’s sister and Texas Tech’s associate dean of libraries.
Bothe killers were executed with a single-dose lethal injection of pentobarbital. No. 11, Douglas Alan Feldman, 55, is scheduled to be executed on July 31 for the 1998 fatal shootings of two 18-wheeler truck drivers in Dallas.
That we continue to rid ourselves of these vermin makes me Texas proud!
